Against [Emotional] Empathy

Last week I read Dr. Paul Bloom's (@paulbloomatyale) Against Empathy.

I was planning to write a long summary, but then I decided to keep things short. Here is my summary in 280 characters or less:

Emotional empathy (different from perspective taking) is making the world a worse place. We need to remind ourselves that empathy is, in fact, a tool used motivate people. Though, I agree with Jesse Prinz that anger is a much better motivator.
